These names were extracted from Bureau of Land Management, General Land Office Records and should be construed as incomplete in nature as I have not viewed every name in the entire database of the many thousands of men applying for land based upon their respective service in many different Wars and Campaigns. It must be understood that not every veteran of this war filed for land and this information includes the warrant number and the land office where it was issued. Generally the enlisted man's record indicated only the last name of his Captain. I then looked up that name with the same rank, which often provided a first name. This information may have some errors as names are hard to read and I may have misspelled them so please visit the source and make your own decisions. The states with military warrants that are currently included in this data base are Al., Ar., Fl., Ia., In., Il., La., Mi., Mn., Ms., Mo., Oh. and Wi. This is great! Some of those names are in my lists from Michigan. I've found many of the 1800 names of those militia men from the current state of Michigan in the GLO records; however I had not yet found where any of these people used their land warrants. I had always wanted to find some of those, and now it looks like you've found some for me!
