Black Hawk War Message Board :: Old Lead Region Historical Society :: Old Lead Region Historical Society :: OLRHS ANNUAL MEETING Author Topic: OLRHS ANNUAL MEETING (Read 381 times) pshrake Member member is offline Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 162 OLRHS ANNUAL MEETING « Thread Started on Feb 15, 2008, 10:55pm » I know its been a long time, but we are holding a meeting of the OLRHS at the home of Marc and Sue Miller at Greys Lake, Illinois (directions will be provided in a later post). The meeting will be on Saturday March 22. Currently the meeting will be held at 10:00 but that may be subject to change. We are still working on the particulars of the meeting, however three main topics of discussion will be: 1. elect a new President 2. select events for next year and most importantly 3. determine where we are going as a group. The last point is very important. We have been somewhat drifting the last few years, and I take full responsibility for that. Our group needs to determine the direction of our group. Are there any other major items that we need to discuss, if so please post or contact me and it will be placed on the agenda. Final details of the meeting, including agenda and nominations for President will be posted on this thread in the coming days/weeks. Point your mapquest to 361 Kerry Way Grayslake, IL 60030 If you get lost, call 847-543-1334 We have one nomnation for President-Marc Miller. Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice President will be elected as well. The agenda will conform to the issue as stated in the previous posting. Every member of the OLRHS is welcome to attend. In an effort to reach all members of the group an online election of officers will take place over the course of the following few weeks. The positions of President, Treasurer, Vice President and Secretary are all up for election. Any member of the OLRHS can serve in any of the posts. Nominations are needed. Any member is free to submit a nominee of their choice. In order to vote please visit: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/blackhawkwar1832/ You must register on the Yahoo website in order to vote. Registration is free, all you have to do is fill out the online registration form and submit. In order to ensure your participation in the online vote please register before April 19. OLRHS will accept nominations for all four positions starting on April 21. Follow the instructions as posted on the yahoo website. (These instructions are not posted at the moment but will be at the time of the opening of the nomination process) Nominations will close on Friday May 2. The nominees with the most votes will be selected as the candidate for the given position. If two candidates receive the same number of votes both will be eligible for election. The general election will begin Monday May 5. Votes can be cast for two (2) weeks. Voting will close on May 19. The new officers will be announced later that week.
