I know this isn't exactly relevant here, but I must point out that Aaron Hawley's relatives eventually returned to settle near Hamilton's Diggings. Several of them are buried in the same cemetery as the Spafford Farm victims. Just some trivia, compliments of Matt Kestel, who discovered this. He maintains dialog on a regular basis with one of Hawley's descendants.

Please let me know if you discover any claims by the Hall family regarding their property around Indian Creek. Don't believe there were because the massacre took place at the Davis's but would be interested if the stolen horses were claimed. Realize the Sisters received captive land grants. Thx, HallSon

Marge- I'm the great, great, great, great granddaughter of William & Sarah Lawhorn. I have been trying to find a copy of his deposition. I tried under the website for National Archives but I'm not familiar with it & was thus unable to find anything. Would you have a copy or know how I might get one? Thank you- Cindy Weston
