Reading the chronology of the Black Hawk War once again at the Battle of the Bad Axe the tribe members state they were very disappointed with Black Hawk and the prophet for leaving them at the Bad Axe and going to Lacrosse. Again this shows cowardess! But who are we to judge and are we getting the facts. Black Hawk approached the Steamer Warrior to get his people aboard and safely across the river but they fired on them. He tried at least twice to raise the white flag, here and at Stillman's Run.
