Today, we are closing on the sale of the May House, an 1863 gothic Victorian home built on the site of Fort Cosconong, and our home for the past nine years.
I am posting this note as a selfish means of release. I am deeply saddened by this event, even thought I know the reasons behind it are reasonable and logical. Living in the May House was a great priviledge, and our family has enjoyed many fond memories within its walls. It has been a wonderful home, and I will miss it terribly.
As some of you may know, we are building a new home (another of the unintended results of my "medical episode" of last November.) The new home will have much less maintenence, much less groundskeeping, and will be all on one level, so there will not be the stairs to climb. We are now moved into a rental home in Fort until the new construction is completed-- around Thanksgiving.
For now, it is for me a sad day.
Robert.

I am indeed sorry to hear of the sale of your home. Old houses have a certain charm that modern buildings can never duplicate. The fact that the May House sat on a historic site only added to allure. Yet, if it means having a healthy Bob Braun with us a little while longer it is worth it.
