List,
Several of us Texians were talking the other day and lit on the idea of making a haul up north to visit our lead mining brethren. We thought y'all might be able to suggest an event at New Salem(or is it Old Salem?) or some other such site that y'all participate at, worthy of the long haul. I know Mr. Braun, Mr. Young and others visit these parts and might be willing to pass on some suggestions, so let 'er fly... what's a good event to hit up y'alls way?

No comments yet? Is anybody out there or are y'all all gone for the holidays?

Scott,
I would suggest looking at the website for Lincoln's New Salem or the website for the Old Lead Region Historical Society. Both sites have sections dedicated to upcoming events. I do believe that New Salem is planning on several militia events for 2006. Old Lead Region is also just begining to put together an events list for next year. However, we do not have a complete itinerary yet. You are catching us at a time when we are wraping up events from last year and just begining to plan for the next. Old Lead Region Historical Society will also be holding a winter/annual meeting in January and our events schedule is a primary topic for discussion so my best suggestion is, check both web sites from time to time this winter and keep checking and posting on this discussion board!
Hope all is well way down yonder in Texas!
and Merry Christmas!!!
