Getting started - cross posted

I was interested in getting started in early 19th century reenacting. I have been involved in Civil War reenacting for the past 8 years or so and would like to branch out as well as finding events that are more in this area. I did meet some of your members at the event in Adams-Friendship this past summer and was interested but then ended up changing jobs, buying a house, moving, etc. And suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I do my own sewing but am currently lacking camping gear (tent, pots and pans, etc).
