I just recived my latest issue of the Miners Journal and simply want to thank Bob for his work concerning the newsletter. It looks great. Anyone who has had experience with putting together a newsletter knows how time consuming it can be.
Thank you Bob!

Many thanks Pete for the kind words.
I regret that this newsletter should ahve been mailed weeks ago. As it is, I took it along on vacation to finalize and mail... which explains the Wyoming cancellation.
I did a good share of firearms research at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody WY... and found some interesting material re BHW firearms, and the availability of "St. Louis mountain rifles" (a.k.a. "Hawkins" rifles) after 1807. Also some interesting info. on pistols, including a preliminary i.d. on the pistols in the 1834 Catlin image of Dodge.
Looking forward to the OLRHS meeting. Cheers...
Bob.
