Yes... the general consensus was "a worthwhile event." The Town of Freindship certainly lived up to its name! Too bad those "research giants" across the creek kept confusing us with the Civil War types in the adjacent camp. It's easy to understand their well-intentioned error.... Our late 1820's civilian clothing, rifle frocks, flint muskets and rifles, sparse equipage, white leather shoulder belts, white surplus blankets, and powder horns and flasks are easily confused with the blue uniforms, percussion rifle-muskets, black leather accouterment and shelter tents of the Civil War period. Too bad... If they had gotton off their dead butts and out of their camp more often, they might have learned something. As it was, we were right to ignore their catcalls. We seemed to have impressed the ACHS and its president, Michael Goc. And we met many fine folks and families. AND we had a great time. Sounds to me like "mission accomplished!!"

I agree completely Bob! I will point out one thing though- the research experts across the way probably did more good than harm by not getting up, as we would have been exposed to alot more than just their fiery intellect! ;D Just remember- You're supposed to say "Fire in the Hole!" because this isn't the Civil War, stupid!" LOL and so on and jolity good. Remember also to duck when the fire the kokopelli cannon too. GMC

I agree with everyone, it was a great time!! I especially got a kick out of fireing the flintlock, I will admit, it was a first time for me, and what a rush.
I really want to thank everyone who came. I especially want to thank Bob and Betsy for putting on a great impromptu presentation to the public.
FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!!

Rather than commenting on firing in holes, I will only restate my description from another thread- A really cracked Swiss Family Robinson. I guess I should have thanked Betsy too, not only for her brazen display of socially acceptable underpinnings ;D but also for that great stew too. Not that a big guy should make a point to comment on food, but it was some good stuff!
