If not, does anyone know the identification and history of this building? What a GREAT Image! While I won't speak for Neil Giffey and his associates, I would guess from my past discussion with him that this cabin is not the "Dodge Mining Camp Cabin" preserved by the Iowa County Historical Society. The DMCC is frankly much larger. Neil indicated in a general way that there were SEVERAL such cabins in the vicinity of Fountain Street, supposedly associated with Dodge's Camp. The current example was MOVED some distance west from its former foundation to its present location. During our drive, Neil indicated that it was too bad that more such structures could not have been saved over the years... which suggested to me that he knew or once knew of other such structures in the vicinity.
