Hello all... I JUST heard from Brian Bradley last night (1/11)! Our thanks again to Nick Hoffmann for making the initial contacts! We will again have a booth at Brian Bradley's "Echoes of the Past" Trade Faire in Oshkosh, WI February 28-29, 2004. Our booth location will be the same as last year. This is a Saturday and Sunday event, with the expectation that we will provide a display and man the booth for BOTH days. Both costumed and non-costumed OLRHS members are invited to attend. This is a great way to talk to folks about the Mineral District, Black Hawk's War, and early Wisconsin history. If you have never been to Brian Bradley's trade faire, it is quite an experience. There's something for everyone... and I have not failed in the past few years to find some trinkets I couldn't live without. It's also a great way to shake off the winter doldrums and renew old freindships. Please contact me if you can help out with manning our OLRHS booth. This is a TWO DAY committment, and we will need help BOTH days! If you can help even part of one day, it would be sincerely appreciated! Craft and display items are welcome! As an update, our OLRHS registration was sent in last week.
For those travelling to Oshkosh and looking for the exposition center, take exit #124 off U. S. 45, which is the second exit AFTER you cross the long bridge.
Follow the signs for the exposition center... by proceeding south to the lights at the next intersection. Turn left on County "Y" at the light, then after about a quarter mile or so turn left into the large parking lot in front of the exposition center.
If you enter the main entrance, turn left and follow the wall to our booth, which will be not far from the secondary entance and rest rooms.
See you there!
Bob.
See you there!

My THANKS to all those Society members who participated.... Betsy and Ian Urven, Anne Danko and Karl Kaphengst... and of course Mary and Rachel Braun. We had many nice compliments on our booth and on our costumed attendees. We also wished to acknowledge several outstanding booths, among them the Museum of the Fur Trade and Villa Louis State Historic Site booths. Excellent displays and excellent uniforming/clothing of their respective subjects. Happily, there seemed to be some booths that actually catered to those interested in replica-quality items. Some items for sale, particularly Native Indian pieces, were particularly well done. A worthwhile show, and a great time had by all! Our thanks to Brian Bradley and associates for yet another job well done! Regards, Bob.
