I knew well Tim's reputation from the world of Civil War reenacting, but was uncertain of how he might react to a special project for an 1830s style chapeau.
As it turned out, Tim was eager to take on the project of replicating an 1830s style topper, known in period parlance as a Round Hat. His is very knowledgable about hat making, and spent time on the phone with me ensuring he understood my intentions for the project.
In about two weeks, I had my hat!
