I am happy to announce that John Zimmerman, the master gunsmith from Harpers Ferry, WV, is now selling totally defarbed and converted P.1795 muskets.
His defarb process included replacing the front barrel band/nosecap, replacing the ramrod, shaving down the comb of the stock to the correct shape, adding a 3rd barrel band retaining spring to the lowest band, replacing all incorrect stamps and removing/replacing barrel stamps and serial numbers, re-fitting the buttplate and adding the "year" stamp.
The cost to defarb an existing musket, including return shipping, is $275
The cost for a NEW Pedersoli musket with all the work already done is $920.
The prices are $45 more expensive than the Canada-based Loyalist Arms product, and $60 less expensive than a new Charleville bought from Dixie Gunworks.
