As reported in Texian Iliad, Stephen Austin carried two percussion pistols at the 1835 siege of the Alamo. Any of these pistols found in the lead district? I offer the following item. The ledgers of Robert Campbell, a fur trader of note located in St. Louis, have been kept by the St. Louis Mercantile Library, now the U. MO. library. Note this statement:
pd Hawkins for Pistols $30.00
Emphasis added. This account is from March, 1832.

Hi Greg,
Though this was just outside the Lead Region the Green Bay Intelligencer Feb 5, 1834 posted an ad from Dequindre and Eberts store. Listed amongst thier many goods were "percussion caps."
