We had an interesting visitor to the Fort today who is searching out what happened to Black Hawk's son. He suspects that a photograph (taken around 1847) in his posession could possibly be Whirling Thunder.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Susan Gordy

Hello just found this web site... during the 1980's I started a five year study which started with the genelogy of Chief Black Hawk in my closet is a box full of data I collect for years.... of course I got letters from Universities that said Good Luck... but I did it, it has not been updated in years... but heres the deal they were living near Des Moines when Black Hawk's son died and they went to Reservation in Kansas with their mother than later they went to Ok where there are still members of the Sac and Fox nation from the family......One son had no children of his own but adopted his wifes children ... daughter lost to unknown... since she could pass for white... and the other son has decendents... if you have not found anyone else to help I can dig out the box... like I said took me 5 years... went to the Sac and Fox Library where I had several friends from correspondence it was a great time of seulthing...
