Hi!
I want to start by saying I am not a reenactor or much of an expert when it comes to the Black Hawk War. I am an historical miniatures gamer who has an interest in recreating some of the battles and skirmishes of the war on tabletop. Therefore my posts will be directed with that in mind.
That said, I believe that on the old site there was some artwork (line drawings) of Illinois militia. Where can one view those online again? It will help determine what miniature figures I need.
I look forward to learning more about this conflict.
Thank you! Darryl Smith

First, the original artist of the line drawings you cited is the Administrator of this discussion board, Mike Thorson. Second, go to the Old Lead Region Historical Society's website www.geocities.com/old_lead/ and click on the "Black Hawk War Militia" link on the home page. Also check out several of the research articles, which you can also access from the home page. I hope this information is of some help to you. Bob.

Mike,
Thank you, those are indeed the ones I am talking about! Most excellent work, sir! Your artwork will help me greatly in finding suitable figures for this war (I game in 25mm). As I progress in this new project, I'll post occasionally about how I am going about this.
thank you again! Darryul
