CONTINUING STUDIES AT UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT MADISON
NEW Blackhawk War
This three-part course examines the Blackhawk War of 1832, a tragic and pivotal event in Wisconsin history. We trace the movements of Blackhawk's Sac and Fox band into Wisconsin. We discuss the response to the war by local settlers and by other Native Americans, and the war's aftermath, which saw removal of tribes but eventual celebration of Blackhawk himself as an American hero.
