Seminar Paper - "DECISIONS AT BAD AXE" In 1968 Carl R. Schwerdtfeger submitted a Seminar Paper entitled "Decisions at Bad Axe: The Function of Command at the Final Battle of the Black Hawk War" to the graduate faculty at the Wisconsin State University-Platteville in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the Degree Master of Science in Teaching. The paper is forty-six pages plus selected bibliography and can be obtained at the Karrmann Library, Wisconsin State University, Platteville. Carl "Skip" Schwerdtfeger is one of the "founding fathers" of the reconstructed Apple River Fort which became the Apple River Fort Interpretive Center in Elizabeth, Illinois. Cliff Krainik
