Buttons

Hi all,
I have a question, I was able to track down some repo. buttons that are from Ft. Snelling. I believe that they are the same style as the reenactors there have on their uniforms. Would these be apporatie for the BHW?

I trust you are referring to Regular Army impressions, circa 1832?

Yes, they are for the 1832 regulars. They have eagles on them, if that helps, if I remember correctly they look like the buttons on the musician's uniform at the Suregon's Quater. I got them hold from Tom Staats, he metioned that should work, but just want to make sure.

DJ, without actually seeing the buttons, it's tough to advise you. That being said, the buttons were (or should be) half domed eagle buttons in white metal, with the eagle looking to the viewer's left, surrounded by a circle of about 16 stars.

Tom Staats is an old chum of mine from Civil War reenacting days. He's very knowledgable, and I trust his judgement.

Yeah, they look pretty much the same as the one's you mentioned about thanks.
