I would like to communicate with others that had an ancestor that also served in Captain Noyes Company in the Michigan Militia of the Black Hawk War. This is what I have learned about Joseph Frakes.
Joseph Feakes enlisted May 21, 1832 as a private in Captain Noyes' Company, 12th Regiment, 3rd Brigade in the Michigan (Territory) Militia in the Black Hawk War. He served until June 21, 1832 for a total time of 32 days. [National Archives bounty land record] Joseph Frakes applied for and received a land warrant #24338 for 160 acres in Ashland County, Wisconsin, the warrant having been reassigned by the said Joseph Frakes to Henry Drettler in whose favor said tract has been located. My notes: The 1830 census for Brady, St. Joseph County, Michigan (Territory) list only one Joseph Frakes. This Joseph was born December 25, 1799 in Fairfield, Greene County, Ohio and married Priscella Downs Parker in Champaign County, Ohio on November 5, 1828. He died September 29, 1880 in Kalamazoo County, Michigan.
