Saturday, May 22, 2010 the historical marker at Blue Mounds Fort was rededicated. Through efforts of the Blue Mounds Area Historical Society the marker was refurbished. The marker was first placed at the site in 1921 and was the first state historical marker to be placed by the Wisconsin Historical Society.
There was a reported sighting of General Henry Dodge at the old fort ceremony. Another featured speaker was Bob Birmingham, former Wisconsin State Archeologist.

::)Thanks for your report of recent events at the Blue Mounds, Larry. Would have appreciated it more as a notice of an upcoming event. I guess no member of the Old Lead Region Historical Society knew anything about the ceremony or couldn't be bothered to make a posting on the Black Hawk War Message Board.
