Do we have a conceptual date for the next OLRHS meeting? Just curious.

We have always tried for the 1st Sunday quarterly, which would place the meeting date November 3 but I think there is the New Salem Event that weekend, though I may be incorrect on that. In any case We could reschedule for later in the month if so desired.

Bob,
I perked up when I read you were presenting a speech on Forts of the Western Michigan Territory. Will you subsequently share your notes or manuscript with the message board or make it available upon request??

Larry,
you should come to one of our meetings sometime. With your knowledge of fort sites and so on, I imagine your imput would make for a great meeting discussion.

One Moc... thanks for the kind invitation, however I am not sure I could pass the muster of your Secretary there.
Besides the lady of the house has put her foot down... no more meeting attendance to be added to my overloaded schedule unless I subtract a membership somewhere... Punishment would be sudden... a rude boot out of the wickiup out into the horse barn for a few nights.
Will reconsider at a later date.
My regards,... "Jack Pine Savage"

I know the feeling! What was it she said before I began clandestinely purchasing historically accurate BHW uniform items... oh yeah- "NO MORE!!" If I wasn't such a young and impressionable person I might have listened to her. Luckily she supports my reenacting ventures!

Betsy,
Could you bring your tape measure to the meeting. I should have some cap and trowser fabric by then that I can give you for the last of my clothes. Thanks.

Larry... fear not. With respect to the "boss-frau," your just the knowledgeable sort we would really enjoy having in the OLRHS! If there was/is any muster to pass, believe me you have already done so!
As for you, Mr. Almanac... we'll see you this Saturday.

Hey all,
I will actually be at this meeting. Sorry I have missed so much otherwise. My job transferred me to guard a doorknob factory in the projects, so I haven't been given much time off.

Presentation: "Black Hawk War Forts in the Michigan Territory" presented by our humble Secretary. My apologies to the deer hunters... heck, you didn't want the CWD exposure anyway! Almanac... why not bring Denice along?

GMC One Moc- Will you be wearing a blanket or just your "unmentionables" to the meeting? I fear I was unaware that Blackhawk had pillaged your tent to such a degree that you are down to the last of your clothes!" ;D We ladies would love to have Denise join us for the meeting if she's free! Mary,
Always so full of wit. Such a charming asset! Didn't you remember that at the last campout at Fort Cosconong some bloodthirsty savage r-u-n-n-o-f-t with my tipi? Since then I have been lodge...er... I mean... homeless... and devoid of clothes to speak of. You should see the looks I have been getting at work, wearing nothing but a smock and a turtle-shell codpiece!
Seriously, When I referred to bringing along a tape measure I was meaning so that I could give Betsy some cloth for my pantaloons. That is all I have left to put together to accurately clothe myself I believe, except maybe a waistcoat.
As for Denice, I would like her to come, but her MD schedule is very grueling. She will be at the RMH ped. surg. dept. Sunday I am afraid. I promise that one day we shall both be free to stop missing stuff. Promises, promises.
The Long Lost Matt Kestel will be coming to this meeting with me. I think he will have cloth for Betsy too, but I am not sure to tell you the truth.
As for deer bagging, no need to hunt when Illinois roadsides are chock-full of them right now! Har Har Har!

Sue and I will be there as well for this meeting. We're looking forward to seeing everyone. We've never been up that way so we're also looking forward to driving around the area.

Sounds like we will have a crowd! Sure do hope the Stockade reserves that whole room for us!
Denice is coming up with Matt and I too, so add one more seat!
